2017 has come and gone and 2018 is well and truly in full swing. What better time than now to reset, start a clean slate and arrive re-energized into the New Year.
This year, I decided that instead if setting “resolutions” for myself, I’d focus on one word, a mantra, an intention to set the way I would like to live my life this year. I’ve realised, that I’m great at starting things and having ideas, but not necessarily the best at sticking to it. Logging things into my diary, drinking my recommended 8 glasses of water a day, making it to the gym, eating healthy or reading a book on a regular basis. Every year, it starts great but by mid-May, I’ve had way too many cheat meals, missed my yoga classes two weeks straight and replaced water with Rosé.
So, let me introduce to you my word for 2018 and new best friend:
C O N S I S T E N C Y.
Imagine all the great things we could achieve, if we were consistent with the goals we set for ourselves. Not just for the start of the year, but for any time of the year. I’ve finally found a yoga studio that I love and feel inspired by, after trialing what felt like most of the studios in Melbourne for the past 6 months. I have my year membership paid for in full, which will motivate me even more to be consistent with my practice – I mean, no one likes throwing money out the window, right?. The best thing about it, is that it is only 5 minutes from my house (Winning!).
